Take care of yourself during lockdown

Letting yourself go can be easy during this time of stress and uncertainty. But, taking care of yourself is crucial, especially now!

Here are some essential wellness tips:

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is essential for your body during this period as it supports your:

  • Lung function
  • Cardiovascular health
  • Brain function
  • Immune system

Make an effort to sit in the sun for 20 minutes a day or take a vitamin D3 supplement – this is a great alternative to sunshine. Also, include vitamin D rich foods in your diet.

Studies show that people who have close friends and family are healthier and live longer than those who don’t. Stay connected and socialise with your friends and family through messages and video calls.

Breathing is a primary survival function and we can use it to regulate our health by meditation. Meditation is the habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts. Meditation has many benefits, such as:

  • Relaxation
  • Stress reduction
  • Increased emotional health
  • Improved sleep.
