Are you booking into a South African hotel anytime soon?
Why travel overseas when you can travel within one of the most beautiful countries in the world? Are you booking into a South African hotel anytime soon? Booking a hotel room online can be a little daunting. The last thing you want is to see bugs crawling around the room, climb into dirty bedding and eat terrible food! If you’d like to go through the process of reserving a hotel without wondering whether you’ve booked a great place, read our tips below:
Read reviews from previous guests
Once you find a hotel online, take a look at all the online reviews. Most hotels will be rated on Tripadvisor and on the Facebook pages of each hotel. Read as many reviews as possible to get a sense of whether the hotel is good enough for you.
Check out the hotel’s location
You don’t want is to be stuck in a bad area or far away from where you actually want to be. Look up the location of the hotel you want to stay at on Google maps and also look up what places, such as restaurants, shops, petrol stations and entertainment venues, are close by.
Take note of cancellation policies
Before making a booking online, take a look at what the cancellation policy entails. You may be subject to charges if you cancel your stay after a certain period. And, if you don’t show up to your hotel on the date you agreed to check-in, you may be charged a “no-show” fee.
Make sure the hotel has a professional website
Seeing whether a hotel has a proper digital footprint is important. The hotel’s website should give you information about the website, state reviews and an idea of how much their rooms cost.
Take note of small details
Besides the cancellation policy, there are other factors to consider before booking a hotel online. Find out how much you need to pay towards a deposit as well as if there are any other hidden costs that may come up later.
